Non-fiction-What is Your Experience?

Hello Room full of Readers!

We will be starting a new read-aloud book this week and it is in a genre that we have not used for a read-aloud yet....non-fiction.

What is your experience with non-fiction books?  What is the last non-fiction book you have read?  What did you rate in on a scale of 1 to 10?  How often would you say you read non-fiction?  Is there a certain topic that you tend to read about?  What about family members, do you see any family members reading non-fiction?  If so, what types or titles?  Do you have any non-fiction books you are planning on or want to read?  If so, which ones?

I am looking forward to hearing your thoughts and experiences.....
Happy Reading,
Mrs. S

Hey!
Well I don't tend to read non-fiction. The last non-fiction book I read was about animals. I don't remember the title but i know it was about animals. I think i would rate it a 9. My family members don't tend to read non-fiction either but they do read the newspaper and some magazines. If I were to read a non-fiction book it would be about animals, I love animals! I think I should start reading non-fiction books because they seem interesting. Maybe i'll start! I wonder what book we're reading next, I'm excited to find out. Well once I think about it we read almost lot's of non-fiction books like we read the native american book and our science book the one with the animal on it and we research indians and invertebrates. So I guess I read a good amount of non-fiction!

Dear Mrs. Simonds,
I don't really rember the last non-fiction book I read.although I have been wanting to read about the titanic or the early 1900. It really depends on what the book is about but I tend to not like non-fiction books even though I love history and learning about it! I just got a relly big DK book about Horse riding and I have been reading some of it every night!I tend to not like non-fiction like I said before. I tend to like fiction more than non-fiction mostly because in a fiction book anything can happen, and in a non-fiction it has to be something that actually happened. So I like fiction more because something wild and crazy can happen, there are no limits in a fiction story!

Bye!

Hello room 2308ers! :)
Well, I know I havent read much non-fiction books in my life. Well I guess I am the Ice Worm was a non-fiction book. I would rate it a 9 1/2. I like to mostly read I guess realistic fiction. Mystery also but I don't much of it. Sometimes fantasy but not much. I bet some people in my family read some non-fiction books. I don't really know the tittle because i don't always look at that.I don't really have a plan in what to read. I just find a book I like and read it, or sometimes I have a book I want to read next.

I don't remember the last time I've read a realistic fiction book! I barely ever read non-fiction except biographys and
auto-biographys when we had to in school. I think I would like non-fiction but I don't like biographys. My dad reads books about sports, which are non-fiction. I can't wait to read a non-fiction book in class!

Hi!!!!!
I don't tend to read non-fiction books. I have read a few though and one of them is Clara Barton, Angel of the Battle Field. I would probably rate it a 6. I don't get all that interested in non fiction books. I tend to read action, mystery, adventure, and lastly fantasy. My Papa and my Uncle Bernie tend to read mostly books about the history and the war. They are really interested about that stuff. I am not planning to read any non fiction books.

Hello room 2308ers! :)
I'm excited to read Three Cups of Tea. I wonder what it will be about. By the cover it has three people but you can't judge a book by it's cover. It has an interesting title. But I haven't read much non-fiction books.

dear room 2308ers,

The non-fiction book that we are reading now is Three Cups Of Tea. The main character in this book is Greg Martin who goes on a mountain and gets lost. Greg finds a small village and there is no school there. Greg gets this amazing idea that he will build a school there. I look forword to see how this book ends. I don't normally read non- fiction books but I would like to.

Hi it's Tom. My favorite non fiction book is Chasing Lincoln's Killer By James L. Swanson. It is all about John Wilkes Booth's escape route. And what happen the night of April 14, 1865. If you want to learn about president Lincoln then you should read this book. And after you read this book then you should go to Ford's theater in Washington D.C because they have a whole lot of info on the subject.

Hi it's Tom. My Dad just finished The Kennedy Detail By Gerald Blane. It is about secret service agents who work on the presidential protection detail in Dallas where president Kennedy, was shot. One of the agents, Clint Hill had to push the presidents wife back into the car after he was shot. the agents LOVED the Kennedys. It hurts them all to think about what happen to him.
