I am excited to see that many of you have tried blogging! This will be the first post of the year that you are required to post at. Starting in October you will be required to post three times a week as part of your reading grade. A post should be at least 5 sentences, thoughtful, and edited for conventions. If you make a claim, make sure you give evidence or explain your thinking.
For this first post, please share with your classmates what your favorite genre of books is and what you are currently reading. Also, tell us where is your favorite place to read.
One of my favorite places to read when I was your age, I loved to curl up in a big soft chair. I had a lamp right over the chair and after school I would make myself a big snack, curl up with my book and pass the hours away.
Another place I loved to read was outside in the fall. I would take a blanket and curl up in the sun with my book and snack.
I am currently reading "The Floating Island". Dylan, my daughter, is also reading it. We talk about it together.
My favorite genre is probably fantasy, although I do really enjoy mysteries as well.

I am reading a awesome book called How to Speak
Dragonese. My favorite genre is humor. I love to laugh while reading. My favorite place to read is in my bed or outside under the sun. But i don't like to read outside in the winter. My book is about a kid named Hiccup can speak to dragons. Where they live everyone has a dragon. His is named Toothless. It is a adventure packed book with some funny characters!!

Right now I'm reading HOT JOBS IN VIDEO GAMES. The book is written by Joe Funk. It's about how all different games and how they are created. Right now I'm on page 76. There are 102 pages in the book. I figured I should take a brake and read a short book.

I am reading a book called Ridding freedom and Tiger Eyes. They are both really good books. Ridding freedom is about a girl that was raised in a orphanage for boys. she loves horses and wants a ranch of her own but growing up in the mid-1800. She has to live a different life.

My favorite genre is mystery/fiction. The book I'm reading right now is "Among the Hidden" it's a really good book. when I'm reading I like reading in my bedroom because it's quiet. Also what I'd like to say is I feel like when your reading a book you should feel emotional and if you fell that way then the book your reading will turn into a very good book. Also books can be very differently written and some interest you and some don't.

My favorite genre right now is realaist fictin, but thats prbabaly just because I just read the best book in the world! The book that I just fininshed was called Mandy. I highly recommend reading Mandy! Mandy is about a girl named Mandy that lives at an orphanage. But thats all I can tell you because I don't know how to tell the rest of it with out spoiling the book! My favorite place to read is out on my breezy porch.

I have been reading Swindle. I like it so far. My favorite place to read is in my bean bag snug in blankets. Also I like to read in my bed before I go to sleep. I miss Picasso we didn't even get to see him eat a mouse. Hopefully he will turn up soon.

I read alot of books over the summer Mrs Simonds. the longest book was called Enders Game. This book is a REALLY cool sci fi action story the main charecter is the smartest man on earth and he's 7 years old. I'm telling you people Mrs Simonds likes to read ALOT.
