Anything But Normal chapter 7 discussion

In chapter 7, Jason once again says that his mom is sad. He said that if they lived in Phoenixbird's story, where every thing is perfect, than his mom would not be so sad. Remember, this story is told from Jason's point of view.

Question 1: Do you think his impressions of his mom are accurate? Do you think she is sad? Explain why or why not and give at least two examples of evidence from the book that backs up what you think.

Question 2: If this story were written from Jason's dad's point of view, what do you think he would say about his wife? Why do you think that?

1.I think Jason's mom was a little depressed Jason didn't say good bye to her but i think she was overreacting. I think he didn't say good bye because he didn't know he had to.

1.I think they are some what accurate but i think she was overreacting a little bit. I think she was sad because Jason didn't say good bye but I don't think Jason knew he was supposed to.

2.I think Jason's dad would think some what what i think. I think he would think he would think she was overreacting a bit.

Question 1: I think Jason's thoughts are accurate because in the book Jason's mom just kept waiting for jason to say goodbye and he never did. the his mom started crying and his dad kept telling her he'll be fine but she was still worried.

Question 2: If Jason's dad was telling the story it would be totally different and I think Jason's dad thinks his wife is being to hard on Jason

I think that Jason's impressions are accurate. His mom doesn't seem too sad though, just frustrated with the situation that she's in. She often seems like she doesn't want Jason to be autistic. The book said that when Jeremy was born, she wouldn't let Jason hold Jeremy. It also said that she would take Jeremy to the bathroom with her if she was a taking a shower.
If Jason's dad wrote this book, he would have said that Jason's mom is overreacting. He always says that Jason needs to learn, and he shouldn't have to be babied. Jason's dad always treats him like he doesn't have austism, to show him that life isn't always his way.

I think Jason's impressions are accurate. I think his mom is sad because of Jason's autism, and because he isn't capable of the things his brother can do.

If the story was written in Jason's dad's point of view, I think he would think the same things as Jason. By the things that his wife say, Jason's dad knows that she is upset.

1. I think Jason's mom is a little sad. I think this because Jason didn't really say good-bye to his mom when she went on a date with his dad. You could hear his father saying to his mom that Jason really did love her. Another thing is that she seems like she just wishes Jason was normal and somehow he could learn to be like all the kids in school.
2. She is a little overprotective and worries more than she needs to. But at the same time she does everything she can to help Jason. I think this because she was making sure the babysitter knew everything and it said that she used to lay in Jason's bed until he fell asleep at night.

1.I think that Jasons mom was upset but she was so overreacting she should tell that the baby siter was used to Jason. I think that Jasons mom needs to relize that Jason is fine with the baby siter. She really she overreacts.

2. Jasons dad would say that ' hes fine and we really need to go.' Jasons dad would be fine with the baby siter waching out for Jason. She has known for a long time. she also as kids! I would trust her with Jason.

1.Well, I might understand Jason's mom. Imagine having a childhood, growing up all those years being happy, and knowing that you'll give all that happiness to your child, and then- you can't really do it for Jason, his mom thinks. She might feel upset because, apart from Jeremy, she never got that. And that is something to be upset about.
2. I think if it was Jason's dad telling the story , he would be in between on this. He's comforting his wife, but maybe he's as upset as her. Then maybe he might not care what his wife says. His son's autistic, and maybe he's accepted that.

1.thing Jason's mom thinks he needs help and care 24-7 but from jason's point of view he is almost normal.I think she over reacted when he didnt put his face into his dads jacket to say bye like his brother did.
2.If jasons dad was telling the story he might be a little depressed that he didnt do what his brother did.(face in jacket)

I think that jasons mom was a little sad because i think she knew that jason wouldn't say good bye to her i also think that she was sad because she wanted jason to understand things that jasons yonger brother understood.
if the the story was written from the dads point of veiw i think the dad would say that she was over reacting a little bit becase the mom knew that jason would not say good bye to her becuse he had atisim and cant really control what he does some of the time but i think the mom should know that jason loves her even if he does not say it.

q1.well she was sad because she just wanted Jason to be normall like Jerimy . but when she was about to go out to dinner she said by Jason but jason didn't respond so she was wait for awyal.
q2. I think if Jasons dad wrote this it would be way diffrent because we wouldn't learn much about his family etc. but he make the mom being over pertective of Jason but I don't think so about the over pertective thing because she in the middle of a normal person ( jerimy ) but then she has to dell with Jason ( who has outisum)

I think that Jason's impressions of his mom are accurate because she is sad that Jason doesn't understand and will never get to have the same experiences as his brother, Jeremy. Examples are: 1. she must have been sad when Jason couldn't hold his new baby brother. 2. Also I think she was sad when Jason didn't want to go to six flags with his dad and Jeremy, so that is why she took him to a restaurant.

If the story was written in Jason's dad's point of view I think that he would feel the same as his wife, sorry for Jason because Jason doesn't get to have the same experiences as Jeremy.
